Uninstall the security solution through the Add/Remove Programs (Windows XP) or Program and Features (Windows Vista/7) option in the Windows Control Panel.

Only if the process described is not completed correctly, it is advisable to follow the steps below:

  1. Download the UNINSTALLER_11.EXE (717 KB) file.
  2. Save the file, to the Windows Desktop for example.
  3. Run the UNINSTALLER_11.EXE file by double-clicking it.
  4. A window will be displayed requiring confirmation to begin the uninstallation and warning about the system restart once the process has ended. Click Yes.
  5. To complete the uninstallation process you need to restart your computer. To do so, click OK on the new window.

Note: a window asking to reboot the computer might not always appear. It is anyhow advisable to reboot the computer after executing the uninstaller.

Note: For Panda Cloud AV use this file instead: Cloud_AV_Uninstaller.exe

Norton

The Norton Removal Tool uninstalls all Norton 2003 and later products, Norton 360, and Norton SystemWorks 12.0 from your computer.

  1. Download the Norton Removal Tool from here: ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/removal_tools/Norton_Removal_Tool.exe
    Save the file to the Windows desktop.
  2. On the Windows desktop, double-click the Norton Removal Tool icon.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions.
  4. Restart your computer.

Your computer may be restarted more than once

Norton PC Checkup Uninstall String

  1. Click Start. Type Run and Press Enter.
  2. If you are using a 64Bit Windows Copy/paste the following string into the Run and press Enter:

  3. If you are using a 32Bit Windows Copy/paste the following string into the Run and press Enter:

  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to uninstall Norton PC Checkup.

Microsoft Security Essentials

Windows XP

  1. Click Start, click Run, type appwiz.cpl in the Run text box, and then click OK.
  2. Select Microsoft Security Essentials, and then click Uninstall.
  3. Restart the computer.

Windows Vista or Windows 7

  1. Click Collapse the Start button and in the Search programs and files text box, type Appwiz.cpl, and then press ENTER.
  2. Right-click Microsoft Security Essentials, and then click Uninstall.
  3. Restart the computer.

 

McAfee

How to uninstall or reinstall supported McAfee consumer products using the McAfee Consumer Products Removal tool (MCPR.exe)

  1. Uninstall your McAfee consumer products using Add/Remove Programs in the Windows Control Panel
    • Windows 2000/XP
      1. Click Start, Settings, Control Panel.
      2. Double-click Add or Remove Programs.
      3. Select the McAfee SecurityCenter product.
      4. Click Remove and follow the steps provided.
    • Windows Vista/Seven
      1. Click Start, Search, type Programs and Features, and click Go.
      2. Double-click Programs and Features.
      3. Select the McAfee SecurityCenter product.
      4. Click Uninstall and follow the steps provided.
  2. Download and run MCPR.exe
    1. Download the removal tool from: http://download.mcafee.com/products/licensed/cust_support_patches/MCPR.exe
    2. Click Save and save the file to a folder on your computer.
    3. Navigate to the folder where the file was saved.
    4. Make sure all McAfee windows are closed.
    5. Double-click MCPR.exe to run the removal tool.
      • Note: Windows Vista/Seven users must right-click MCPR.exe and select Run as Administrator.
    6. Restart your computer after receiving the message CleanUp Successful.
  3. Your McAfee product will not be fully removed until the system is restarted.

McAfee FreeScan

To use this batch file, first extract all of the file’s from the mfscleaner.zip file (any location will do). Then open delMFS.bat in Notepad.

  1. Change the paths to reflect the paths on your computer (if they’re different to those in the batch file)
  2. Remove the McFreeScan Class control from the Downloaded Program Files folder

    Start > Settings > Control Panel > Internet Options
    Click the General tab, then the Settings button, and finally, the View Objects button.
  3. Run the batch file
  4. .Download and run RegCleaner to remove the registry entries that FreeScan add’s.

Before running this batch file, you must ensure you change the “deltree /y ” line to “del ” (without the quotes, but with the space) or you will run into problems. [/box]

Note: If you have not already done so, you MUST re-start your computer BEFORE doing the above!

Malwarebytes Antimalware

Windows XP:

  1. Click on Start and select Control Panel
  2. Open Add/Remove Programs
  3. Uninstall Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware
  4. Restart your computer. very important
  5. Download and run mbam-clean.exe from here
    • NOTE: If you get SHGetValue failed with error code 0, that only means that the tool has nothing to perform, continue on with the next step….
  6. It will ask to restart your computer, please allow it to do so. very important

 

Windows Vista and Windows 7:

  1. Click on the Start (Windows Logo) button and select Control Panel
  2. Click on Programs and Features
  3. Uninstall Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware
  4. Restart your computer. very important
  5. Download and run mbam-clean.exe from here
    • NOTE: If you get SHGetValue failed with error code 0, that only means that the tool has nothing to perform, continue on with the next step….
  6. It will ask to restart your computer, please allow it to do so. very important

Live OneCare

If you happened to hit an issue with uninstalling Live OneCare, give this tool a shot:

This tool was developed to cleanup both OneCare v1.1 installations (older) as well as the current version, and the tool works on XP, Vista and Seven.

To use this tool, save it to your desktop. If running Vista/Seven, right click the saved file and select Run as Administrator. If using XP, simply double click the downloaded file to run it. You must be an administrator to run it.

Kaspersky

Some errors might occur when deleting Kaspersky Lab products via Start > Control Panel > AddRemove Programs. As a result the application may not uninstall correctly or remnants of the application may remain in the system.

Removal utility enables complete uninstall of the following products:

  • Kaspersky PURE
  • Kaspersky Anti-Virus (all versions)
  • Kaspersky Internet Security (all versions)
  • AVP Tool driver

Note:

  • Under 64-bit OSs the removal utility does not uninstall Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0/7.0 and Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0/7.0.
  • The utility deletes activation information. Therefore, you are required to activate a newly installed Kaspersky Lab product once again.

In order to fully uninstall the product:

  • save the uninstall utility on your computer:
  • run the file kavremover.exe
  • enter the code from the picture. If you cannot read the code from the picture, click on the button next to the picture to generate a new code
    • in the Following products were detected section select the required product to be uninstalled. If you wish to delete some products, it is required to delete them separately.
    • If the utility has not detected any Kaspersky Lab product but you are sure that one of the above mentioned applications is installed on your computer, select the installed product from the list. Alternatively, you can also select Remove all known products.
      • Kaspersky Lab experts do not recommend to select the Remove all known products variant in cases if you are not sure that a Kaspersky Labproduct is installed on your computer.
  • click on the button Remove

  • wait until a dialog window appears to inform you that the product was successfully removed
  • click OK

By default, a log file with the name kavremvr xxxx-xx-xx xx-xx-xx (pid xxxx).txt will be saved in the folder where the utility is located.

Immunet

Immunet Protect Removal Tool 1.0.3.00 remove completely the Immunet Protect.

Instructions:

  1. Uninstall Immunet Protect normally (with its uninstaller), if there are some problem (or appare into the screen some error about the uninstallation) with the normal uninstallation process pass to the 3° step
  2. At the two questions choose “yes” in both

What this will do?

  1. End Processes;
  2. End Services;
  3. Delete Files;
  4. Delete Keys;
  5. Restart in 60 seconds.

G-DATA

  • Go to Start > Control Panel and then go to Add/Remove programs or Programs and Features
  • remove the installed G DATA Security Software. If you have installed it already, please skip to the next step.
  • Save the file “AVCleaner.zip” on your desktop and unzip the file also on the desktop.
    If you don’t know how to unzip the files, go to How to > Compress and Extract Files.
  • Restart your computer in “safe mode” option. (How to use Safe Mode?)
  • Open the file “AVCleaner.exe” on your desktop. It will remove all the components of G DATA Antivirus from your computer.
  • Restart your computer in normal Windows mode.

F-Secure

The Uninstallation Tool 3 is a program that removes all client products up to version 7.

Warning: The Uninstallation Tool 3.0 does not remove F-Secure products that have been installed in an unsafe location, such as c:Windows, c:Documents and settings, c:Program Files, etc. This is done to avoid loss of important customer data during the uninstallation.
Note: The uninstaller will automatically reboot the computer without warning

To remove F-Secure’s client product, do as follows:

  1. Download the UninstallationTool.zip file.
  2. Unzip the contents of the zip file to an empty directory.
    To learn how to unzip the file(s), go to How to > Compress and Extract Files
  3. Carefully read the readme.txt file before running the uninstallation tool.
  4. Run the UninstallationTool.exe file by double-clicking it.

Note: This will clear the directory in which F-Secure’s software was installed unless it was installed in an unsafe location.
